My Story

Hello and welcome
My name is Jisu Jekel, and I’m so glad you’re here. It truly means a lot that you’ve taken the time to visit my website. This space is where I share both past projects and the recent works I offer through my Etsy shop.

Artist statement
Art, to me, is a visual language—a way to express meaning and offer encouragement that words sometimes cannot. My prayer is that wherever my work finds its place, it may bring a sense of comfort and warmth to the heart. I draw inspiration from my faith, the beauty of everyday moments, and the wonder of creation. Galatians 5:22–23

Background
I was born in South Korea and spent six years of my teenage years in Fiji before moving to the United States, where I completed my Master of Arts degree. My career has included working as an illustrator for a publishing company and teaching at the college level. Today, I balance life as a stay-at-home mom with my work as an illustrator, watercolorist, children’s book author, and wife.
